Thailand Holds Peace Conference and Interfaith Peace Blessing

Bangkok, Thailand—UPF and the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification in Asia co-hosted the 16th Asian Leadership Conference in Bangkok, Thailand from November 27 to December 1, 2015. Among the 64 participants from 9 different countries in Asia were government leaders, including Mr. Shyam Jaju, vice president of the Ruling Party in India, and Mr. Chong Phet, deputy governor of Bontey Meanchay province in Cambodia.
There were large delegations from Malaysia (25 participants) and Cambodia (20 participants). India brought six participants; Indonesia, Nepal and Thailand each brought three participants, and Brunei and Myanmar each brought one participant.
Presentations on the teachings and vision of UPF founder, Rev. Sun Myung Moon, were given by UPF representatives in Asia.
On November 29, the participants attended the Interfaith Peace Blessing Festival, which was held at the Thailand Peace Embassy. Approximately 150 people took part in the program.
For the closing session, Dr. Chung Sik Yong, chair of UPF-Asia, appointed 30 new Ambassadors for Peace. In a presentation he gave the day before, Dr. Yong explained the significance and responsibilities of Ambassadors for Peace.
During the group discussions, representatives from each nation discussed projects and programs they want to undertake after they return home.

Washington, D.C., United States—More than 200 leaders from 54 nations attended an International Leadership Conference (ILC) which featured the launch of a parliamen- tarians’ peacebuilding association known as the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP).
Taipei, Taiwan—UPF-Taiwan observed U.N. World Interfaith Harmony Week with a seminar on “Social Responsibility of Taiwan Religious Institutions in Facing Serious Social Moral Crisis.”
