CANADA-2015-04-18-UPF Views and Activities Shown on Canadian TV

Georgetown, Canada - Two television programs, one about UPF activities and another about marriage that was hosted by a UPF representative, were shown at UPF-Canada’s monthly meeting.

The meeting on April 18, 2015, took place in the town of Georgetown, Ontario, at the Narconon drug rehabilitation facility run by the Church of Scientology. The hosts of the meeting were Rev. Yvette Shank and Senior Consultant Brad Melnyshuk of the Narconon facility.

Auth. Qamrul Khanson was the moderator of the meeting. UPF-Canada Central District Co-Chair Rev. Mitch Dixon gave an introduction to the two Horizon Interfaith television programs, which were produced by the public-access corporation Rogers TV.

The first program, “Universal Peace Federation (UPF),” was hosted by Mr. Edmond Young, who attended the meeting. In it, Mr. Young interviewed Rev. Dixon and Rev. R. Thillairajan about UPF’s activities around the world, especially its efforts to bring interreligious harmony. The program also delved into the thought of UPF Founder Dr. Sun Myung Moon.

The second program, “Rethinking of Marriage,” was hosted by Rev. David Stewart, a UPF lecturer. It showed a couple, Jacques and Angela Fontaine, answering many questions about marriage.

Following the showing of the two television programs, Brad Melnyshuk gave the attendees a tour of the Narconon facility for drug education and rehabilitation.

Narconon facilities all over the world have been helping people recover from drug addiction for nearly five decades. Thousands of people have successfully completed Narconon drug rehabilitation programs, and unlike many other alcohol and drug treatment methods, the vast majority of graduates go on to live stable, ethical, productive, drug-free lives.
