For us people of faith in our society, dialogue does not mean only meeting each other in discussions but living our lives together. This is referred to as the dialogue of life. In such a dialogue, it is important that we work together, stand side by side, and join hands in order to promote the welfare of our society and its general good. The dialogue of life is also a constant reminder of the great traditions of openness within our religious traditions to each other. It is a reminder of the history of living together.

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has shaken the global agenda. Unfortunately, it looks like both the Palestinians and the Israelis are keeping the "peace process" for the sake of the process instead of having real and tangible peace negotiations. Let us pray that wisdom and the spirit of peace may ultimately guide the Israeli and Palestinian leadership.

US President Barack Obama launched a new beginning between the US and the Muslim world at Cairo University in Egypt on June 4. The relationship between the US and the Muslim world had been marked by ongoing mistrust, discord, and suspicion for several decades. It was particularly tense during the last eight years of the Bush administration. This was due to the fact that after the tragic event of 9 / 11, the “War on Terror” targeted the Muslim countries of Afghanistan and Iraq, causing discord between the Muslims and the United States.

Jerusalem, Israel - Twenty-six youth from Austria, England, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, America, and Israel gathered in Jerusalem on June 21 for a taste of Israeli and Palestinian cultures and to learn through experience about transcending barriers of religion, ethnicity, and nationality for the sake of peace. In their two weeks together they took part in service projects and dialogues with Israeli and Palestinian youth as well as visiting historic sites.
