Macau, People's Republic of China - Ms. Vilma Passamai, Vice President of the Family Federation for World Peace-Macau, served as master of ceremonies for the celebration of the 2009 International Day of Peace. The ceremony opened with a meditation for peace. Then Mrs. Alice Huang, Asia Director of the International Educational Foundation, gave the opening remarks. Mr. Panfilo Lumibao, Vice President of the Family Federation for World Peace-Macao, gave a speech, and Ms. Irine recited a beautiful poem for peace. Ms. Huang delivered a lecture on “The Cause and Resolution of Conflict,” stating that every person can be a peacemaker and can help solve interpersonal conflicts.

A video introduced Father Sun Myung Moon’s autobiography and the work of Ambassadors for Peace worldwide. Vilma Passamai described character education as a foundation for peacebuilding.
