Special Offer: Peace Cantata "Halelu - Songs of David"

A Project of the Universal Peace Federation's Middle East Peace Initiative

halelu-cd-ilOn the foundation of the Middle East Peace Initiative's concert on September 13, 2004 at the International Convention Center in Jerusalem, internationally acclaimed vocalist David D’Or and American conductor David Eaton set upon the task of co-creating the Peace Cantata, Halelu—Songs of David.

David D’Or was deeply moved by the ideals of Ambassadors for Peace, and as an artist who is dedicated to the concept of “music for peace,” his wish was to contribute to this Middle East Peace Initiative through his music.

Composed in 2005, Halelu, a 40-minute, 10-movement composition for solo voices, chorus, and orchestra, was recorded in Tel Aviv in April of 2006 with the Ra’anana Symphony Orchestra and members of the Philharmonia Chorus. The words for peace in English, Hebrew, and Arabic—Peace, Shalom, Salaam Aleikum—figure prominently in the lyric, and the music is sung in Hebrew, English, Arabic, Latin and Korean.

The world premiere performance of Halelu took place May 19, 2007 at the Sava Center in Belgrade with David Eaton conducting the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra and the 120-voice choir of the Academic Cultural Artistic Society.

The Tel Aviv recording of Halelu is now available. For information regarding purchasing the CD, contact David Eaton at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
