Interreligious Celebration of Eid ul-Fitr in Southern France

During the period of Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. At the end of the 30 days they invite friends to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr. Imam Othmane Aissaoui, who participated in the recent Conference on Interfaith Cooperation and the Protection of Human Rights and Dignity held in Geneva, Switzerland, invited Jewish and Christian representatives on September 24 to a special dinner at the mosque in Nice, France. Approximately 80 people attended the prayers and speeches, and more came for the dinner. Four Ambassadors for Peace were present at this gathering, and their presence was officially recognized by the imam.

On September 25, the Nice-Monaco International Airport authorities opened a prayer room in the airport. Two UPF Ambassadors for Peace delivered speeches and offered prayers.
