United Kingdom - GPF

United Kingdom - The London event was a “global” experience with diversity of ethnicities. The festival sought to strengthen relations among family members and between the family and society. Benin - GPF

Benin - Participants from different countries offered community service at the Ganve Public Primary School in Ouidah. They weeded and cleaned the school grounds. The mayor offered words of welcome. Four women's soccer teams participated in a tournament. Advancing the range of opportunities for women is one of the UN Millennium Development Goals and a key focus of UPF. Germany - GPF

Germany - The Festival was preceded by an eight-day peace walk made by two groups, ending in Bad Camberg. They slept mainly in youth hostels, meeting mayors, speaking to the media, and visiting religious centers of different faiths. France - Many associations co-sponsored the festival. NGO leaders came to the podium and introduced their organizations. This was followed by musical performances and three speeches: Dr. Juan Federer, ambassador of Timor, expounded his views on universal values common to all religions; Rabbi Abittan spoke on "the family as the school of love"; and Mr. Chamsamone Voravong gave a few guidelines on the notion of co-development.
