The first week of February every year has been designated World Interfaith Harmony Week by the United Nations General Assembly, with the theme "Love of God and Love of the Neighbor" / "Love of the Good and Love of the Neighbor."

Seoul, Korea - UPF’s latest international Leadership Conference, held in Korea over the Chinese New Year holidays, January 21-25, brought together just over 200 participants from 72 nations to consider possible roads to peace. There was a particular focus on peace and security issues related to Northeast Asia and the Korean peninsula.

Taipei, Taiwan - The final seminar of the year on Rev. Sun Myung Moon's thought, on October 30, explored the theme “Full Dimensional Characteristic of Unification Thought.” The 146 participants included members of the Professors World Peace Academy, Ambassadors for Peace, and people of various religious backgrounds.

Bratislava, Slovakia - UPF Slovakia organized a special event on December 19 to commemorate the end of Communism in the Soviet Union 20 years ago. In Moscow on December 25, 1991, the Communist Party was abolished and on December 31, the Soviet Union was formally dissolved. UPF-Slovakia took this opportunity to highlight the enormous contributions by its founder to end Communism.

Montreal, Canada - The first UPF-Montreal meeting of 2012 was held on January 11 at Hotel Ruby Foos and featured a presentation on the life and works of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a North American peacemaking pioneer.

Anse-la-Raye, St. Lucia - UPF-St. Lucia hosted 17 members of the Generation Peace Academy who came from the United States to Anse-la-Raye on November 22 to engage in volunteer work in the community. They came with a full slate of projects spanning their three-week stay.

Washington, DC, USA - On December 14, the UPF Office of Peace and Security Affairs convened its inaugural roundtable meeting in Washington, DC on the theme, “Regional Perspectives of the Korean Peninsula 
after the November Asian Summits.” 
The roundtable discussions focused on the new shift of US foreign policy towards the Asia Pacific region and its implications towards the Korean peninsula.

Tokyo, Japan - UPF-Japan organized the 13th Peace Diplomats Forum on the theme of "Security" in Tokyo on December 8, and around 40 experts from various fields, including several diplomats from the embassies in Japan, participated.
