Austria: Perspectives for Sustainable Peace in Europe
Friday 15 September 2017, 09:30am - 05:30pm

The Austrian chapter of Universal Peace Federation and partnering organizations are pleased to invite you to attend a conference commemorating the 2017 International Day of Peace.

The conference, which will be held at the Vienna headquarters of the United Nations on September 15, will focus on the role that parliamentarians, in cooperation with civil society, can play in securing peace for Europe and the surrounding regions.

The theme will be addressed in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Parliamentarians from Italy, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Croatia and Serbia, as well as parliamentarians from all political parties represented in the Austrian Parliament, are invited to present their perspectives on sustainable peace in Europe.

During the conference there will be a presentation about the International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP), which the Universal Peace Federation founded as a forum in which parliamentarians can contribute their experience and wisdom to solving the world’s problems.

The IAPP had its European launch in September 2016 in the Houses of Parliament in London, United Kingdom.
