Taipei, Taiwan - A seminar on family values was organized by the Universal Peace Federation and the Professors World Peace Academy (PWPA) on May 1 in Taipei. The 123 participants included board members of UPF and PWPA, professors, and Ambassadors for Peace. There were Buddhists, Catholics and Unificationists.

Taipei, Taiwan - UPF organized a forum on March 26 about Taiwan’s contribution toward fulfilling the UN Millennium Development Goals. Speakers reported on the international humanitarian work of their NGOs.

Taipei, Taiwan - In connection with the “World Interfaith Harmony Week,” UPF-Taiwan held a seminar entitled “Interfaith Cooperation for Peace: Theory and Practice” on January 22 featuring Christian and Buddhist speakers.

Taipei, Taiwan - Because interfaith cooperation is an important way of promoting peace, UPF-Taiwan organized four interreligious educational activities in 2010, each with a seminar in the morning and tour of a religious site in the afternoon. This helped people of various faiths understand other religions and allowed people without any religious background to learn about the importance of religions and their contribution to society.

Taipei, Taiwan - A two-day National Leadership Conference for Ambassadors for Peace took place June 20-21 at the Great Roots Forestry Spa Resort in Taipei County.

Taipei, Taiwan - To popularize the International Day of Families, promote good family relationships, and become closer to the natural environment, UPF-Taiwan organized an outing on May 15 to the Flying Ox's Pasture resort.

What I am most proud of is my commitment to the policy of soft power. Soft power is different from the tradition of hard power. Hard power has created economic exploitation. Soft power reaches out to others and involves them in partnership.

Taipei, Taiwan - Since August 25, UPF-Taiwan has been mobilizing Ambassadors for Peace and other volunteers to clean up after Typhoon Morakot and deliver supplies to people in hard-hit areas.
