Delhi, India - Interest is growing in UPF's Youth Leadership Training programs in India. Mr. Yeqing Victor Lee, Secretary General of the Washington DC-based Youth Federation for World Peace, was a featured speaker at several events at schools and universities near the nation's capital.

Punjab, India - Four UPF resource persons traveled 1,800 km to conduct five Youth Leadership Training Programs on the theme “Let Us Join Hands to Build a Bright Future” in four major cities of the Punjab. A total of 1,500 participants attended the one-day workshops jointly organized by UPF-India, Youth Federation for World Peace-India, National Service Scheme, and other social and educational institutions.

Gangtok, Sikkim, India - The Universal Peace Federation of India honored Dr. Pawan Chamling, Hon. Chief Minister of Sikkim, with the Leadership and Good Governance Award on July 6. The ceremony took place in the Chintan Bhawan Government Hall in Gangtok, the picturesque capital of Sikkim.

The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) of India organized an International Leadership Conference under the theme, “A New Paradigm of Leadership and Good Governance” in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India on July 5.

The UPF call of “One Family Under God” resonates with an ancient Indian philosophical assertion of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam, the whole world is one single family.

Sikkim, India - On the occasion of UN International Day of Families, the Sikkim Chapter of UPF-India organized an event at a Government Senior Secondary School in East Sikkim. Shri Ritam opened the celebration with a welcome address. The students at the school recited a poem on the theme of the family.

Chennai, India -  On April 26, 2009, Global Youth Service Day, alumni of Religious Youth Service-India volunteered at "Udhavum Ullangal," a free home taking care of more than 100 orphan children in Chennai.

Delhi, India - Over 500 leaders from all major faith traditions and all walks of life convened for a common cause at the Global Peace Tour event at Delhi University.

Delhi, India - A series of service projects is taking place in collaboration with the National Service Scheme, the main student service organization under government auspices. While much of the work and funds are provided by others, the organizers look to the Universal Peace Federation and its affiliates for support and advice.
