The Brazilian UPF chapter was inaugurated on the 12th of December 2005 when the founder, Rev. Sun Myung Moon, came to deliver the inauguration speech at the Great Auditorium of the Anhembi Convention Center, in front of 2500 people, in Sao Paulo.

On the 28th of July 2007 the first Regional Peace Council of Sao Paulo Region was established with the participation of 21 Ambassadors for Peace. Dr. Reinaldo Correa, Regional Police Chief, was elected President; Mr. Arlindo Negrão, Police Delegate, Vice-President; Mrs. Eliza Ferreira, UPF Public Relations, First Secretary; Dr. Natanael Nascimento, Judge, 2° Secretary; Rev. Christian Lepelletier, UPF General Secretary, 1° Treasurer; Colonel Bizarria, from the Military Police, 2° Treasurer; Dr. Hélio Serra, Medical Doctor, 1st Counsellor; and Mrs. Elita Correa, Lawyer, 2nd Counsellor.

Interfaith Harmony Week Commemorated in Sao Paulo

Brazilian Footballers in Friendly Match with North Koreans

Pyongyang, North Korea - About 80,000 fans packed Pyongyang's Kim Il-sung Stadium to watch a friendly football match between a visiting Brazilian club and the North Korean team. The Atlético Sorocaba players held the North Koreans to a goalless draw in a tightly-contested match that was part of North Korea's preparations for next year's World Cup.
