Tirana, Albania - UPF-Albania's National Peace Council met November 18-20 to review UPF activities in Albania, Kosovo, and Montenegro. New council members were welcomed and a plan was adopted for activities during the coming two years.

UPF-Albania and the Family Federation for World Peace commemorated the International Day of Peace by distributing school supplies to Roma orphans in Tirana on September 27 and in Shkodra on September 28. Eleven volunteers spent a month raising the funds to purchase the supplies.

Bronx, New York, USA - The Albanian community in the Bronx honored Mother Teresa’s birthday with a food drive held on Mother Teresa Way on August 26 with Albanian businessmen, restaurant owners, community leaders, and children dressed in Albanian traditional participating.

Korça, Albania - UPF-Korça and Ambassadors for Peace organized a project to raise awareness of the citizens and different institutions about the importance and value of the family on May 16. The Ambassadors for Peace were very inspired about this idea and concluded that one day would not be enough to emphasize the great importance of the family, so they decided to dedicate a whole month on this theme by proclaiming May as the "Month of the Family."

Tirana, Albania - Women from the Kosovo and Albania Cultural Friendship Association visited orphanages in Vlora, Tirana, and Elbasan bringing gifts and cheer to the children and staff. The March 18-23 visits were sponsored by the Women's Federation for World Peace of Japan and Albania and by the Universal Peace Federation.

Tirana, Albania - At the annual meeting of the Albania National Peace Council on March 19, former President Alfred Moisiu encouraged Ambassadors for Peace to be more active in their respective fields in promoting peace nationally and internationally. "We should leave a true legacy after we pass away, by living for the sake of others," he added.

Librazhd, Albania - At the high school where I used to teach, we held a celebration of the "Day of Love" on February 14 and gave a presentation on "The Family as the School of Love."

Tirana, Albania - A beautiful program was held on September 21 in which 70 school packages were given to orphans referred by the Institute of Albanian Orphans. People participated in a water ceremony that symbolized the unity of humankind.
