Ambassadors for Peace Concert in Vietnam Celebrates Diplomatic Ties

Hanoi, Vietnam - Israeli vocalist David D’Or and American conductor David Eaton--both of whom are Ambassadors for Peace--performed with the Hanoi Philharmonic at the Hanoi Opera House as part of the “Friendship Melody” concert commemorating the 20th anniversary of Israeli and Vietnam diplomatic relations. The concert took place on April 11 and was attended by numerous diplomats and the respective ambassadors of Israel and Vietnam.

UPF-Burkina Faso Accredited as Elections Observer

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso - UPF-Burkina Faso was accredited as an observer for the Legislative and Municipal elections on December 2. Authorities involved in the administration of the elections throughout the national territory were asked to facilitate the Ambassadors for Peace performing their observation mission from the opening of the campaign on November 17 until the proclamation of the final results.

Owing to the latest accident, people’s good faith in nuclear energy has been greatly reduced while trust in the public authorities and the electric companies has fallen to a rock-bottom low. It will not be easy to recover the lost credibility, requiring a long time and sincere efforts including transparency which is a very vital element. In a democratic nation, nuclear energy cannot be sustained without popular trust and support. At the same time, people should deal with matters related to energy and atomic power in more reasonable and cool-headed fashion.

Santosh Shah Named One of 'Top 99 Under 33 Foreign Policy Leaders'

Kathmandu, Nepal - The Diplomatic Courier, a global affairs magazine, announced their selection of the “Top 99 Under 33 Foreign Policy Leaders” in their latest issue. Their selection lists Santosh Shah, 29, a Nepali and the only Asian. The founder president of Today’s Youth Asia and the anchor and producer of the television talk show “Power Talks,” he served as a panelist on the United Nations Youth Advisory Panel from 2008-2010. Tiotira Rauna Addresses New Zealand's Annual Voyaging Festival

Gisborne, New Zealand - Ambassador for Peace Tiotira Rauna represented UPF-New Zealand at the annual Te Unga Mai voyaging festival on October 8 at the Gisborne Conference Center. The commemoration of Captain James Cook’s arrival in 1769 “and the sad events that happened at that time” included interfaith readings by members of Presbyterian, Muslim, Anglican, Hindu and Baha’i faiths. Addressing the gathering on behalf of UPF-New Zealand, Tiotira Rauna expressed its belief that "peace is going to start in Oceania.” For more details click here.

Rob Schrama Reports on the 'Jerusalem Hug'
